Zebra Adventures will be waiting for you in the arrival hall at Cape Town International Airport and transfer you to your boutique hotel, Romney Park Luxury Apartments in Greenpoint, where you will spend 4 nights. Enjoy some leisure time next to the pool before checking in and attending the group orientation meeting, which marks the official start of your tour at 3:00 pm. We depart early evening for an unforgettable welcome dinner.

Day 3: Cape Peninsula, Penguins & Sunset Dinner
It’s time to grab your sandals and head out to explore the beautiful coastal area of Cape Town. Kalk Bay has been recognised by Forbes Magazine as one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world, and you’ll soon see why. This charming spot boasts art nouveau chic and tons of personality, offering a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. After you’ve explored this little gem, it’s time to head over to Simonstown to see the African penguin in its natural habitat. These little fellows are truly amazing, and you’ll fall in love with them in no time. Lunch at Boulders Beach and enjoy a swim with the penguins in the warmer waters of False Bay – it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you don’t want to miss. Enjoy the beach and shop at the African stalls. Heading back to Cape Town, we’ll drive along the Atlantic coast, following the world-famous Chapman’s Peak with its 114 twists and turns, rock formations, and scenic roadways. Back at the hotel, it’s time to freshen up before heading out for dinner. Cocktails at one of the top 5 rooftop bars in the world. Camps Bay is the perfect place to enjoy a magical dinner and watch one of the most beloved sunsets in the world.

Day 5: Explore the Wine Region

Whether you are a wine lover or not, the breathtaking scenery of vineyards and mountain ranges in Stellenbosch, Paarl, and Franschhoek will leave you mesmerised. We'll start our wine adventure at Kanonkop, named the 2022 red wine producer of the year by IWSC. Here, you'll get to try South Africa's signature red wine grape, Pinotage. Our next stop is Waterford Estate with its natural beauty. Stroll through paths lined with fragrant citrus trees and expansive green lawns and indulge in a delightful chocolate and wine pairing experience. Our next stop is the famous Boschendal Wine Estate, voted ‘The Most Beautiful Vineyard’ in the world by Conde Nast Traveller in 2020. Boschendal is one of the oldest farms in South Africa, dating back to 1685. Much of the fresh produce you'll find here is sustainably grown on the farm itself. Enjoy a delightful lunch featuring contemporary farm-to-table cuisine, prepared with the finest local, seasonal, and ethically sourced ingredients. Following lunch, we will enjoy a wine tasting under the beautiful old oak trees, followed by checking in at Boschendal’s Retreat Cottages for a two-night stay. Day 7: Road Trip: Entering The Garden Route & Knysna
Say goodbye to the Winelands as we start our road trip and head to the renowned Garden Route. With a few stops along the way to stretch our legs, we make our way to Wilderness where we will stop for lunch before heading further to our destination. Nestled in a picturesque setting, Knysna is a delightful town known for its verdant indigenous forests, serene lakes, and captivating beaches. The striking geological formation called the Knysna Heads, consisting of vibrant cliffs, stands majestically at the mouth of the lagoon, accentuating the town’s natural allure. Within Knysna, you’ll be greeted with the warm embrace of crafts shops, flea markets, and inviting cafés, all exuding the charm and hospitality of a close-knit community. Day 9: Cango Caves & Oudshoorn
As we depart from the Garden Route, our journey continues across the mountains via the scenic Outeniqua Pass. Along the way, we traverse the Swartberg mountain pass, which leads us to the awe-inspiring Cango Caves nestled within the foothills of the Swartberg. This extensive network of limestone tunnels and chambers has a history spanning millions of years. As we venture onward, the flora undergoes a transformation, and we arrive in Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world. This charming town is nestled in the heart of the Klein Karoo, a semi-desert. During the late 1800s, ostrich feathers reigned supreme in the realm of fashion, captivating people worldwide, from royalty to fashionistas and even maharajahs and emperors. No visit to Oudtshoorn is complete without exploring an ostrich farm. Day 11: Safari & Spa
Recharging takes centre stage. Take the opportunity to unwind after a couple of busy days, as today is a leisure day filled with relaxation and exploration. You are presented with the choice of either embarking on an early morning game drive or opting for a later afternoon game drive, or perhaps even doing both. Throughout the day, you have the chance to indulge in the luxurious offerings of the spa, where you can partake in world-class treatments, revel in the steam room, make use of the indoor pool, sauna, and more. You can savour the picturesque sights from the restaurant, go for a refreshing swim, and if you're feeling energetic, engage in a guided game walk. Day 13: Time to say “Hamba Kahle”
See the African sunrise one last time on your early morning game drive before breakfast. Suitcases packed and ready to make our way to Cape Town International Airport where we will say our final goodbyes until we meet again. Our scheduled arrival time at Cape Town International Airport will be between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm.

Day 2: Cultural Experience
Today is all about immersing yourself in the rich culture of South Africa and her Mother City. Take a drive-by tour of historic buildings and landmarks such as the Grand Parade, the Castle of Good Hope, and St George’s Cathedral. As you stroll through the Company Gardens, which date back to 1652, you’ll be surrounded by the sights, smells, and culture of the city. Get an introduction to where and how our city started, and learn about the Cape Malay community, the heartbeat of The Cape. You’ll hear stories from the past and discover how we are building a rainbow nation with a promising future. Walk through the colourful Bo-Kaap, where you’ll start your Cape Malay cooking course and learn about masala from a local spice merchant. Your host will guide and entertain you with stories of food and culture before returning to their family kitchen via cobbled streets. Cook up a storm and sit down together for a traditional lunch. Later, we’ll stop to shop at Greenmarket Square, where you’ll find crafts, jewellery, clothing, and curios. Return to your hotel to prepare for a true African treat, a cultural dining experience. Day 4: Table Mountain & Helicopter Ride
Today promises to be an exciting day as we journey to Table Mountain, one of the 7 new wonders of nature. We will be taking an early cable car journey to start a relaxed 2.5-hour hike on top of the mountain. The route we take will be selected based on the group’s overall experience and fitness, as well as Cape Town’s unpredictable weather at the time. Don’t worry, we won’t be using any ropes or ladders – it’s a relaxed hike with plenty of picture-perfect moments. Once we reach the top, you can send a postcard from the gift shop or grab a snack in the cafe before we descend by cable car. We’ll then head over to Signal Hill for more breathtaking views of the mountain you just explored. We’ll return to the hotel where you can relax and cool down in the pool before ending the day on a high note with a helicopter ride along Cape Town’s peninsula. You’ll be in awe of the Atlantic Ocean stretching out to the horizon and might even catch a glimpse of some majestic whales and playful dolphins below. The views of the Cape Town City Bowl, the Peninsula’s pristine white beaches, and the Twelve Apostles Mountain range are simply stunning. After your flight, explore the V&A Waterfront and enjoy a leisurely dinner of your choice. It’s the perfect way to cap off a fantastic day and end our time in Cape Town.

Day 6: Explore the Wine Region

Wake up to beautiful panoramic views of the Drakenstein Mountains and the soothing sound of a nearby stream, with the vineyards not far away. Our first stop for the day is at Babylonstoren, one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms, situated in the Franschhoek wine valley. The Gardens of Babylonstoren has a fruit and vegetable garden of beauty and diversity and evokes a sense of well-being. Amidst all the wonderful offerings at Babylonstoren, you will have the opportunity to join Babylonstoren’s Olive Oil Tour. Learn about the cold-press process used to transform olives into golden olive oil and the preservation process of our table olives. The tour ends on a delicious note in the olive tasting room, where you can taste the olives, olive oils, and tapenades alongside a variety of Babylonstoren products to inspire flavourful olive pairings. Next, we make our way to Fairview Wines for a delightful wine tasting. After lunch, step back in time, as you savour L’Ormarins Cap Classique at Anthonij Rupert Wines in the estate’s historic Manor House, furnished in mid-nineteenth-century Cape Dutch style. We'll return to Boschendal where you can pick up some snacks or a light dinner from the deli and farm shop before heading back to our accommodation for some relaxation.

Day 8: Knysna & Elephant Experience
Wake up to the fragrance of the sea and the enchanting songs of seagulls.
Today is a day to unwind and embrace all that Knysna has to offer. Numerous options await your exploration. Discover the shops on Thesen Island, rent a bicycle or paddle boat, or bask in the sun at the beach. Hop on the ferry and venture to Featherbed Nature Reserve, where your ticket includes a 4x4 trail drive to the start of a scenic walk through the reserve. Knysna is home to Africa's only paddle-driven vessel, a paddle cruiser, offering a one-of-a-kind experience on the Knysna Lagoon. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon for a truly special treat. Knysna Elephant Park awaits, just a short 25-minute drive from Thesen Island. Here, you'll have the chance to engage with a remarkable herd of five African elephants, the country's largest domesticated matriarchal group. Day 10: Road Trip: Route 62 & Safari
Today is the day – Safari here we come! Our chosen path is none other than Route 62, renowned as the ultimate road trip destination according to CNN Travel. It is also recognised as the world's lengthiest wine route, brimming with undiscovered gems. Stop for lunch at one of Route 62’s well-known diners in Barrydale, a quaint vintage village situated at the foot of the Klein (little) Karoo and Overberg. We proceed towards the Safari Lodge, where you’ll spend the remainder of your tour (three nights). Enjoy your first sunset game drive and encounter the magnificent “big-5”; elephants, rhinos, leopards, buffalo and lions. Additionally, an array of other animals awaits you, including wildebeests, zebras, ostriches, giraffes, and springboks (a beloved medium-sized antelope in South Africa). Although the family of hippos lounging in the muddy pool may not be too eager for photo opportunities, the two water buffalos stationed at the safari entrance every day certainly are. Day 12: Safari & Adventure
Start your day with a refreshing safari experience if you're in the mood. Enjoy another tranquil day ahead. Similar to yesterday, today offers another opportunity to unwind and discover at your own pace. How about exchanging one of your game drives for an exhilarating horseback or quadbike safari? Lounge on the expansive pool deck under the African sun and grab a seat at the Wet Bar. Relaxing by the pool is a great way to unwind after a Big 5 game drive. Indulge one last evening in the taste of Africa with a buffet-style restaurant serving local cuisine and traditional favourites. The restaurant is perfectly situated with breathtaking views of the reserve’s stunning landscapes and natural wildlife.

Day 13: Time to say “Hamba Kahle”
See the African sunrise one last time on your early morning game drive before breakfast. Suitcases packed and ready to make our way to Cape Town International Airport where we will say our final goodbyes until we meet again. Our scheduled arrival time at Cape Town International Airport will be between 1:00pm and 2:00pm.

The itinerary mentioned above serves as a preliminary plan. Your final itinerary will be sent to you three months before your tour. You will receive a basic medical form to complete roughly four months before your arrival in SA. If you have received any medical treatment or sustained any injuries within six months before you arrive in South Africa, we require a ‘fit to fly’ letter from your GP. This is to help you while in South Africa, as we do not want you or any of your group members to miss out on any of our exciting activities and to keep up with a jam-packed itinerary. We encourage a moderate fitness level, please note the itinerary includes 2 leisurely hikes. We have a daily itinerary with pre-booked excursions, and we encourage everyone to participate on a daily basis.
